A unique feature of Laurel Island will be a 25-foot wide conservation easement spanning the three and a half miles of high bluffs surrounding Laurel Island. An oyster shell walking and biking trail will meander throughout the length of this most natural, yet elegant space, with the ethereal beauty of coastal Georgia’s marshes drawing a passersbys gaze to one side, while charming English Colonial architecture entices their glances to the other. “The Promenade,” as it will come be known, will simultaneously allow residents of Laurel Island to enjoy long, breathtaking vistas of marsh, river, and sky, while also enjoying the camaraderie of friends and neighbors within this space that we believe will come to define Laurel Island’s sense of community. Whether used as a place for a morning jog, an impromptu venue for social interactions, or as a visual portal into the vast world of the marshes, The Promenade is certain to become a key cornerstone of life at Laurel Island.
